Dr. Benhamou received a B.Sc. and D.D.S. degree from McGill University. She obtained a specialty certificate in periodontology and implant surgery in 1989. Dr. Benhamou is associate professor and Past Director of the Division of Periodontics of McGill University dental School. Dedicated to teaching, she is very involved with continuing dental education worldwide. She was the recipient of the W.W. Wood Award for "excellence in Dental Education", the "2005 Educator Award" from the AAP and the 2009 Howard Katz Award for "excellence in Teaching" and the 2014 the"Ralph Silverstone Teaching award". She is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and Fellow and Speaker of the ITI and a member of numerous professional organizations. Her private practice is in downtown Montreal.
